All content in Orbit — events, courses, resources, announcements, membership levels, and directory entries — follows a consistent draft/publish/archive workflow. This gives you full control over what's visible to your members and when.
Statuses
| Status | Visibility | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Admins only | Work on content before making it live. Edits are saved as drafts with live preview. |
| Published | Members and public | Content is live and visible (subject to access controls like member-only restrictions). |
| Archived | Hidden | Content is removed from listings but preserved in the system. Existing relationships are retained (e.g., members on an archived membership level keep their membership). |
Events also support a Cancelled status for events that have been called off.
Autosave & Preview
When editing content in draft mode, changes are autosaved so you never lose work. Many features include a live preview — for example, the membership level editor shows a real-time preview of the purchase card as you edit pricing and benefits.
Scheduling
Some features support scheduled publishing:
- Announcements can be scheduled to publish at a future date and time, with optional expiration dates
- Email campaigns can be scheduled for a specific send time
- Courses can have start and end dates that control availability
How It Works Across Features
The workflow is consistent everywhere, so once you learn it for one feature, it works the same way for all others:
- Events — draft → published → cancelled/archived
- Courses — draft → published → archived
- Resources — draft → published → archived
- Announcements — draft → published (with optional schedule) → archived
- Membership levels — draft → published → archived
- Directory entries — draft → published → archived
- Email — draft → published/scheduled → sent/completed
