At Orbit, it's a core principle that you own your data and have the ability to take it out of the system at any time. Data export is available on all plans — we never want you to be in a situation where you're tied to using this tool. Your data is yours.
Feature-Level Exports
Throughout the platform, you can export data from any feature at both the list level and the individual level.
List Exports
Export the full dataset for any feature:
- Memberships — all membership levels and all member records
- Events — all events and all registrations
- Resources — all resources
- Announcements — all announcements
- Member Directory — all directory entries
- Courses — all courses and all enrollments
- Mail — all email campaigns and delivery records
Exports are available in CSV format and can be accessed from the admin portal for each feature.
Individual Exports
You can also export data for a specific item — for example:
- The registration list for a particular event
- The enrollment list for a specific course
- The member list for a particular membership level
This makes it easy to pull targeted data for reporting, follow-up, or sharing with colleagues.
Full Site Export
For a complete export of all your data across the entire site, go to Settings > Advanced and click the export button. This allows you to export:
- All data across every feature (memberships, events, courses, resources, announcements, directory, mail, and more)
- Optionally, all files, images, and attachments as well
Full site exports require some additional processing. We aim to complete these within 24 hours, but please allow up to 7 days for the export to be finalized.
User Data Export
We believe that the ability to export data is important not just for organizations but for individual users as well — both as a matter of principle and for compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR.
Individual users can request an export of their personal data from their account settings. This includes their profile information, membership history, event registrations, course enrollments, and other data associated with their account.
As with full site exports, we aim to process user data export requests within 24 hours, but please allow up to 7 days.
Migration Assistance
Organizations on higher tier plans have access to support that includes assistance with data exporting and migration to another tool, should you choose to move away from Orbit. Our team will work with you to ensure a smooth transition.
