Orbit handles terms of service and privacy policy acceptance for your portal, ensuring that all users agree to your terms before accessing the platform.
Default Terms
By default, Orbit provides a standard end-user terms of service and privacy policy that applies to all users of your portal. This covers the essentials and is suitable for most organizations getting started.
Custom Terms (Higher Tier Plans)
Organizations on higher tier plans can override the default terms with their own custom terms of service and privacy policy. This allows you to specify exactly the legal terms you want your users to accept.
When you enable custom terms:
- A template based on Orbit's default end-user terms of service and privacy policy is provided as a starting point
- You can edit the terms of service content directly from the admin portal
- You can specify a privacy policy URL that links to your own privacy policy page
User Acceptance
When users sign up or first log in to your portal, they are prompted with the terms of service and privacy policy and must accept them before gaining access to the site.
Orbit tracks each user's acceptance, including when they accepted.
Updating Terms
When you update your terms of service or privacy policy, you can set an updated date on the new version. Any user who has not yet accepted the terms, or who accepted a version prior to the updated date, will be prompted to review and accept the new terms on their next login.
This ensures that all users are always covered by your most current terms, without requiring manual follow-up.
